LETTER OF PROTEST IN SOLIDARITY WITH ABORIGINAL PEOPLE VIOLATED IN ALL THEIR COMMUNITIES

 "VENETIAN REPUBLIC - DOGE'S OFFICE

AGAINST THE INTERNMENT OF ABORIGINAL PEOPLES IN AUSTRALIA

To:  Ms Margaret Twomey

Australian Ambassador to Italy and San Marino, Ambassador-designate to Albania and Libya

Australian Embassy

ROME

The Government of the Venetian Republic is informed of a current campaign in Australia of forced internment of the indigenous peoples of the Binjari and Rockhole Communities opposed to mandatory vaccination, imposed on them by the Chief Minister of the Northern Territory, Michael Gunner, and enforced with the use of the Australian Defence Force and auxiliaries.

We hear the desperate cry for help to the international community by Australia's indigenous people to save them from this act of genocide.  Indigenous Australians are the world's oldest people, with over 50,000 years of continuous existence.  They are the traditional custodians of Australia's landmass and an integral component of the global diversity of peoples and cultures.  They must be protected at all costs.

Similarly occupied and oppressed and denied our fundamental and inalienable right to self-determination for 224 years, we Venetians are also an indigenous people, the oldest in Europe.  We are one with the indigenous peoples of the Binjari and Rockhole communities and stand in solidarity with them.  We are all brothers under the one God.

We remind the Australian Federal Government of its obligations under the various international treaties and conventions to which it is a signatory, including the ICCPR, the ICESCR, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We demand the Australian Federal Government respects its indigenous communities, their expression of history and culture and the heritage values of all humanity.  We demand that the Australian Federal Government intervene to protect the Binjari and Rockhole communities from this abuse by the regional government of the Northern Territory.

The Government of the Venetian Republic says “no” to internment and violence on Australian Aboriginal peoples; we say “no” to pseudo-health dictatorships!
